NEWS FROM THE GROUPS

Unknown author 1962 Q3 Bulletin 016/14 Locations: Brightlingsea, Mersea

The N.W. Midlands Group will meet in Manchester at The Wheatsheaf Hotel, High Street, Manchester 4 (not far from Piccadilly bus station) on 16th November at 7.45 p.m. to discuss a winter programme and activities for next season. It is hoped that rallies and possibly a cruise in company will be held on the Lancashire and North Welsh coasts. All those interested are very welcome. Secretary: Joan Abrams, Rivendell, Ley Lane, Marple Bridge, Cheshire.

The North London Group held a rally at Mersea Stone, Essex on Saturday 29th September. Four DCA members arrived by car, one by boat, and four YHA members by boat. Most of Saturday evening was spent in re-anchoring the boats due to an imminent southerly gale which left a modest hour for drinking, Most of those camping suffered from the torrential rain during the night and emergency plans came into operation on Sunday morning owing to the unabated wind. One boat had broken adrift losing both anchors but was rescued safe and sound and the sudden drop of wind at mid-day allowed for moving the boats to Brightlingsea where they could be more easily boarded the following week end.

North American Group Kurt Cylke reports that a group has been formed from the meeting he organized in the Autumn. This is most encouraging news and we look forward to an interesting exchange of ideas and experience.
