Ports of Call Maurice Redman of Fenn Creek, Woodham Ferrers, off the River Crouch, Essex extends a welcome to any member sailing in those parts. There may be other members who have similarly well-placed homes, where members cruising would be welcome. If so, we should like to hear about them.
Channel Cruise-in-Company A.R. Neale, 3 The Crescent, Richmond, Yorks. intends to make a short cruise in his Y.M. Senior Piccolo (579) trailing to Dover on 30th May and sailing for Calais and the north coast of France and possibly Belgium, for one week. He would like to hear from any members interested in cruising in company with him. (There should be no need to point out that boats on such a cruise must be as well equipped and their crews as experienced as if each were sailing entirely alone).
Surrey Schools Solent Cruise from Sunday 16th August to Thursday 20th August leaving the barge ½ mile up river from the Mercury (training ship on the Hamble) at 3.30 p.m. Weather permitting the cruise will include Shalfleet, Christchurch, Poole and back. This cruise is run in conjunction with the Y.M.C.A. National Camp at Botley and it is hoped that the Staffordshire Schools Sailing Association and the Wayfarers Cruising Section will be joining the cruise. Any D.C.A. members who would like to join the company are most welcome. Talk by Frank Dye 23rd May 6.30 p.m. Church Hall, Emsworth. The talk will be about his Iceland cruise and a future cruise. D.C.A. members welcome. During the afternoon there will be racing and after the talk there will be a dance in the Sailing Club. The day is being organized by the Wayfarers Association.
