John Roberts writes — There was an unfortunate omission from my article for which I must apologise. I recently visited the launching site at Upper Upnor (the one for which directions are given in my second paragraph) and found a large notice stating that “launching and berthing of boats is prohibited without authority of H.Q.R.S. Military Engineering”.
