THE AQUABUG
Jack Clarke of 7 Trent Drive, Hucknall, Nottingham, writes that he has had experience of the Perry Aquabug. He has owned one since late August of 1973. The weight, bulk and general awkwardness of outboards (including the Seagull ‘Featherlight’) had always put him off them, but the ‘Bug’ appealed to him on sight. Becalmed by trees on the Trent, he finds the ‘Bug’ quite adequate. It makes a lot of noise, and is so tiny it looks rather ridiculous on a Mirror ‘16’, but so far he doesn’t regret buying it. A friend used it on his 11 foot boat with wife and two kids on board during a windy day, and he too seemed satisfied with it.
Obviously, he says, the engine is of no use where any real speed or power is required.
One snag is that the tiny fuel pipe leaks at the tank end and he has not found a way of stopping it yet.
