Dangers (natural): Most of the coastline west of Tenby is rocky and very dangerous
Dangers (human): M.O.D. firing range at Pendine makes it impossible to cross the bay E-W or W-E, except Saturday afternoons & Sundays (details from Range Safety Officer)
Shelter: Tenby and S’foot harbours dry out, but high ground near the shore shelters the west end of the bay from the prevailing SW winds Shore: Rocks are apt to appear even on sandy beaches. Mud and sinking sand appear to be absent. Surf can be a problem for launching due to shallow shelving beach
