SELF-INFLATING MATTRESSES

Stuart Jones from Lymington (no relation) tells me he contacted Calipak and sent them a copy of our Bulletin. As a result he has negotiated a discount for DCA members. So if you want to order the ‘regular’ size, you’ll save yourself almost £1. To us they cost £15; buy two and they come for £26.85, three at £39 and four (if anyone has a dinghy that big!) at £51.40. The Backpacker’s and children’s are 46” long and come at £11.95. He hasn’t offered a discount on that, but you could always ask. Thanks Stuart.

CATALYTIC?

Ray Ellard, writing from Down Under in Aus., tells me of a couple, an Aussie bloke with an obviously not too dumb Sheila of a mate from America, who plan to sail all round Aus. Believe it or not, they have a 16’ catamaran of the open, trampoline net type, which he describes as being like a Hobie 16. So far they’ve covered 3,000 miles and have about 1,000 to go! They’ve taken 18 months to date, and I’ve asked Ray to let us have any other news he gets. I wonder how they manage a brew-up at 18 knots suspended from a wire!
