REPORTS OF OFFICERS
National Secretary: 61 new members, helped by Jeremy Beare’s article in PBO in Jan ’91. PBO to be corrected about subscription rate and new officers. Chair thanked Joyce for her hardworking spell as National Secretary.
Treasurer: Report presented by Peter Bick. Accounts presented. Only part of year covered by new subscription rate and not reflected in 1989/90 accounts, so no need for change in subs this year.
Auditor: Gerald Levinson was satisfied with the accounts.
Librarian: Chair asked for vote of thanks to Elizabeth Baker for all her years of servitude to the DCA. Greeted with acclaim.
Public Relations: Sailboat ’91 — DCA stand in Hall 3 at Crystal Palace. Too small to show a boat. Display panels, back projection screen and projector, enrolment of new members to be arranged. Incentive sub rate of £8. DCA posters to be made.
Membership Secretary: Number of paid up members 343. Meeting expressed its deep thanks to John for his hard work and efficiency.
Bulletin Editor: Steady flow of contributions from Peter Bick, Technical Advisor, was much appreciated. There was a current shortage of informative articles about cruises. Articles about particular boats, with members’ experiences of them, needed and articles about places. Meeting agreed that DCA does not accept commercial advertising, but members can recommend useful items. The copy deadline dates should be observed by contributors. Consideration given to matching Bulletin size to postal charges.
London Meetings Organiser: Saturday nights to be tried for 1991/2 season, including AGM.
East Coast Secretary: Four rallies were attended by 5,4,3, and 2 boats respectively. Generally fair weather. Dates for 1991 had been chosen. Stanley would like someone else to assume his role for 1992 season.
North-west Secretary: Rallies held at Rudyard Lake, Barrow, Port Dinorwic, Coniston, Derwent Water and Ullswater. A successful season with boats attracted from over the Scottish border and from the east side of the Pennines.
South Coast Secretary: 7 rallies well-attended in generally good weather. Joe Scott would like a successor to take over for 1992. Suggested and agreed that each rally a host would be nominated and his telephone number advertised.
Technical Advisor: Besides providing Bulletin articles, Peter had dealt with a wide variety of queries. He had also attended an RYA meeting on behalf of the DCA.
DCA shop: Peter Empson has taken over from Peter Filshie. New stock items were agreed upon.

TRIBUTE
The new president paid tribute to the enthusiastic work of David McClellan, retiring president, for his years’ efforts in varying roles for the DCA over the last 13 years.
STANDING ORDER SUBSCRIPTIONS
Difficulties in identifying members’ paying by bankers order has led to the recommended change to payment by cheque or cash in future. This should greatly improve the accuracy of membership records.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
National 18 Class Association has approached Len Wingfield for information. PRO to liase. RYA fears on issue of EEC ‘harmonisation’ on small boat registration. Class dinghies might use sail numbers. Could DCA do something similar? Agreed that no action is called for at present.
