SOUTH-WEST RALLY REPORT
River Exe 10th-13th April
Have you noticed that ever since they failed to warn us about the Great Storm, the Met Office have got highly histrionic about bad weather? My, did they lay it on thick about this weekend. Snow, ice, and manifold grimnesses were forecast. Actually it was not all that bad, as the few members that were not put off can testify. But boy, was it cold! Nonetheless a good collection of people got to the rendezvous in the Turf Inn at the mouth of the ship canal. As you can’t get to the Turf by road, most people came by water, but only two of us brought our own boats — the local ferry services did good business with the rest of them.
Andy Morley has written a fastidiously accurate account of this rally elsewhere in this Bulletin, and I have not one quibble with it.
