You may remember that at our North-West planning meet I asked members if they would object to surplus cash from the meeting being sent to the National Coastwatch Institution and the RNLI. On this occasion I decided to send a worthwhile donation only to the NCI and I trust members will agree with this. I have now received a reply from John Erskine, Divisional Director and Membership Secretary, which may interest members. Part is reproduced below.

‘Very many thanks for your letter of the 25th and for the very generous cheque for £40 on behalf of the Dinghy Cruising Association. In our continuing efforts to expand and improve our services to the public every penny we can get is most welcome.’
