ELECTRIC OUTBOARDS

Pardon the familiarity but small boats breed it.

I have read No 165 with the usual detailed interest and George Saffrey's very interesting article on pages 30-31 on electric outboards came as a breath of fresh air in an otherwise murky subject; which I have been trying for some time to penetrate, only to be discouraged by the prohibitive cost and technical complications which have faced me at every turn.

As hope springs it has sprung again because the tone of his article does imply that he has embarked on electric motorised boating at something less than a price that only Bill Gates might pay and he mentions a firm by the name of Mercury Marine which I would like to contact but do not know their address. If you or George could tell me this I will write to them instanter. The name or names of any other electric outboard suppliers would also be greatly appreciated; UK ones only.

In the meantime, please carry on the good work of the Bulletin. When I read it I can almost smell the sea.
