Dear Joan,

When I read the passage in the last Bulletin concerning Talbot Kirk's age and offer I suffered a twinge of conscience because a Log which he had published long ago I considered worthy of the Naylor Noggin. Unfortunately at the time the award was in abeyance and there were murmurs from Eric (and others) about the Club "not consisting of pot hunters” so I did not press the point.

Would it not be a compliment to him if that Log were resurrected and republished (with his permission) though the noggin cannot legally be inscribed with his name.
